Eighth World Ikebana Convenion in Yokohama, Japan, March 2001

Mary Burnett de Gomez traveled to Japan to attend the Eighth World Ikebana Convenion in Yokohama and that these are photos of arrangements at the Exhibition held during the convention. (Click to see a bigger photo.)

Albuquerque Chapter of Ikebana International February Meeting

Mary Burnett de Gomez giving a demonstration and lecture on the subject of setting up an arrangement for an ikebana exhibition at the February 7, 2001 Albuquerque, NM Chapter of Ikebana International. The compound arrangement of glass containers contrasted with volcanic stone and driftwood and floral materials consisting of genestra, baby's breath, anthurium, dragon willow and matsumo asters.

Ikebana Workshop and Tea: Students' Experiment

Ikebana students experiment with Holiday Ikebana arrangements at the December 3, 2000 Ikebana Workshop and Tea. Students observed a demonstration by master Ichiyo Ikebana teacher, Mary Burnett de Gomez, then participated in a "hands-on" workshop in the relaxed atmosphere of the home of one of the students.

AKIHIRO KASUYA

Headmaster of the Ichiyo School of Ikebana, Tokyo, Japan, is shown at the June 22, 2000 workshop, held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, advising students about their ikebana arrangements. In addition to the workshop, the Headmaster (Iemoto) also gave a demonstration, the theme of which was the inovative use of basket containers and the beauty of leaves. After leaving Albuquerque, Iemoto Kasuya continued on his tour, stopping next in Guatamala.
